Solodallas | Orbiter Fuzz | Inspired by FuzzFace
The Solodallas Orbiter Fuzz takes a highly musical F-Face style fuzz circuit and pushes it into a smooth overdrive stage, creating a fuzz tone that feels expressive, vocal and easy to place in a mix. Inspired by the vintage lineage of Arbiter, Diaz and SoloDallas, the Orbiter delivers classic fuzz character with a more controlled and refined response under the fingers.
The Fuzz control shapes the overall amount of fuzz by shifting the waveform from a more triangular response into a squarer, more saturated fuzz texture. This gives the Orbiter a wide sweep of tones, from open and gritty vintage fuzz to thicker, more aggressive sustain.
The Gain control increases the signal feeding the overdrive section, allowing the fuzz circuit to move into harmonic clipping for smoother, more singing lead tones. Rather than sounding harsh or overly loose, the Orbiter is designed to stay musical and responsive, making it suitable for both rhythm textures and lead lines that need to cut through.
The Bias control adds another layer of vintage-style feel by adjusting the voltage to the matched pair of silicon transistors. Lower settings produce spitty, gated fuzz textures, while higher settings deliver smoother, more sustaining tones with a classic rock voice.
Under the hood, the Orbiter includes vintage power emulation to recreate the sag and feel of an old carbon zinc battery, along with internal Sweet Spot and Drag controls for fine-tuning pickup response and attack. This makes it a fuzz pedal with serious depth - simple on the outside, highly adjustable inside.
