LD Systems Stinger Sub 15G3
The LD Systems Stinger Sub 15G3 is a Passive 15ā Inch bass-reflex PA subwoofer. It drives a custom-designed 15ā woofer delivering a huge bottom end with a terrific punch and excellent definition. With rock-solid reliability for day-in, day-out use it offers a high-efficiency 600 watts RMS digital power stage and 127 dB maximum SPL. As a result, the Stinger Sub 15G3 offers deep basses down to 40 Hz, thanks to a 15ā³ custom-design woofer.
Well-braced bass reflex enclosure
The Stinger Sub 15G3 is a real workhorse throughout. You can use it in both horizontal and vertical orientation. As a result, you can use multiple subwoofers and stack them together. In order to offer the user extraordinary strength and durability. This is thanks to the rigid 18 mm birch ply and coated with ultra-tough polyurea. It further sports a steel front grille, M20 threaded pole insert, stacking recesses and ergonomic handles for easy transportation. The Stinger Sub 15G3 will truly deliver professional sound reinforcement and additional accessories to facilitate live and installed applications.
Rear Panel
On the rear panel of the Stinger Sub 15G3, you will find the Main Output. This connection type is an Input with Speakon-compatible speaker socket. (assignment 1+, 1- = internal loudspeaker chassis). The INPUT and OUTPUT sockets are wired in parallel (1+, 1- & 2+, 2-). The speaker has an impedance of 8 ohms. An output Thru is also present. This connection type is an Output with Speakon-compatible speaker socket. (assignment 1+, 1- & 2+, 2-). When routing the signal, please be aware of the total impedance of the system to prevent any damage to the amplifier.
Lastly, Stinger Sub 15G3 offers a Channel 2 Output; where this Special output is used for controlling a Mid/Hi speaker; (when using a 4-wire cable, in which the subwoofer signal is fed to 1+ and 1- and the Mid/Hi signal to 2 + and 2 -.) The contacts 2+ and 2- of the MAIN INPUT socket are wired to the contacts 1+ and 1- of the CH 2 OUTPUT socket; in order to enable controlling a Mid/Hi speaker with a 2-core cable with 1+ and 1- assignment.
The passive subwoofers of the Stinger G3 Series do not have an internal crossover, therefore the use of an active crossover, or a DSP amplifier is mandatory.
